History
In the spring of 2022, Pastor Jeff and Gretchen Freeman started prayer meetings in their home. In August of '22 they received a word from the Lord to plant a church in their home. Within a few days the Lord confirmed His plan between them. The Altar Church was planted in their home and was relocated to the heart of Joplin in December 2022 and has been there since, hosting His presence in that region.
Our Pastors
Pastor Jeff and Gretchen Freeman have been married since 2015. They have 4 children, 2 daughter in laws, and 3 grandchildren. Pastor Jeff has been working at Grace Precision Products since 2015 as the shipping manager and has been leading as the Sales Manager the past two years. Pastor Gretchen has also been working at Grace Precision Products the past seven years, working as a billing/inventory specialist. They continue to work together as a team, side by side.
Pastor Jeff was born again in 2013 and was set free from addiction. Pastor Gretchen grew up in a Christian home and was born again at a young age. In 2019 Pastor Jeff and Gretchen had an encounter with the Lord in a prayer meeting in the baptismal waters in Dawsonville Georgia. They began seeking Jesus's face in prayer and out of this came The Altar Church in 2022. Since then, they have been hosting Christ's presence by being active in their community, doing outreaches, and releasing the Kingdom of God everywhere they go.
Our Beliefs
There are so many who are lost and have NO idea how to get out of their situation. We believe Christ died for it all and rose again giving us His power and authority to reach the lost. When we seek His presence, He gives us an anointing fire to spread His Kingdom. (Leviticus 6:13)
